Tank battles wwii3/8/2024 ![]() Unfortunetely they have been late while getting through minefields in the dark and passing the groups of prisoners captured in infantry attack. By the morning of November 2nd 9th Armored Brigade started its advance through the gap. More than 2000 Germans and Italians were captured and a 3 mile long breach was made in Axis lines. From that gap 1st Armored Division spearheaded by 9th Armored Brigade would get through, cut Rahman Track which was the main Axis communication line from north to south and capture vital Tel-el Aquaqir ridge, breaking out from whole Axis defence line. As first part of Supercharge after a heavy artillery fire and air bombing 50th Infantry Div would punch a hole on Axis defence lines with a night attack.
